Settings
On a Mac, TermiPort → Settings… (⌘,) opens General, Keyboard, Security, Agent, Serial, Sync, and License. Changes apply as you make them. Done closes the window. On a narrow Android screen the same sections are a list with Back, not a row of small tabs. The Keyboard section is not on Android.
Theme, font, shortcuts, agent options, and the serial log folder stay on this computer. They are not part of sync. Vault and sync covers Sync and License.
General

| Font | Default "SF Mono", ui-monospace, Menlo, monospace. |

| Cursor | Block, Bar, or Underline, and Blink. |
| Scrollback | 0–1,000,000 lines, default 10,000. |
| Use Option as Meta key | Option sends a Meta / Esc prefix, as in Emacs. |
| Close the tab when its session ends without an error | Close the tab on exit status 0. |
Reset to Defaults restores the terminal settings. Export Settings… and Import Settings… are described below.
Keyboard
Every menu and tab-bar shortcut can be changed, except Quit (⌘Q) and Select All (⌘A). Commands are grouped as in the menu: TermiPort, Shell, Edit, View, Window, Tabs. Click a field and press the keys. Backspace removes the shortcut. Esc cancels. Reset restores one row. Reset All restores every row after you confirm.
A shortcut other than ⌃Tab needs Command, because the other keys belong to the terminal. Keys are taken by the physical key, so a shortcut recorded on a Russian layout works on any layout. A refused shortcut names the reason and stays unchanged: standard editing and window keys, keys macOS reserves, list keys such as ⌘I and ⌘⌫, and a key another command already has.
Shortcuts are stored on this computer and are not synced. A shortcut you assign to TermiPort in System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts → App Shortcuts wins over this table. This whole section is absent on Android.
Security
This is how the vault opens, not how a sync account signs in.
- Unlock with shows the current method: master password, master password and a code, Touch ID, master password or Touch ID, a security key and its PIN, and the combinations the vault is actually using.
- Change Master Password… asks for the current password, the new one, and a confirmation. Older copies of the vault file still open with the old password. Touch ID keeps working if it was on.
- Unlock with Touch ID is per Mac. Anyone who can touch the sensor while you are logged in can open TermiPort. Approve only Touch ID sheets that name TermiPort. Android 12 and later uses a fingerprint the same way. Earlier Android versions do not.
- Ask for an authenticator code adds a TOTP check after the password. The code does not encrypt the vault. Touch ID does not ask for it.
- Use a Security Key Instead of the Password… is macOS only. It removes the master password. Keep the recovery code. See Keys and the agent.
- Lock after inactivity — Never, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes (the default), 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 4 hours. Keyboard, mouse, and scrolling count. Terminal output does not.
- Lock when the computer locks or sleeps — on by default.
If the vault is locked, the section says to unlock it before you can change security.
Agent and serial
Agent options are listed on Keys and the agent. The socket path and Use from other programs are not shown on Android, because other apps cannot reach the agent.
Serial → Log folder is the folder for session logs on this computer. Choose…, Use Default, and, on macOS, Show in Finder. The macOS default is ~/Library/Logs/TermiPort/Serial. The folder is created when logging starts. Logs are not encrypted. See Serial.
The settings file
Export Settings… writes TermiPort Settings.json. It holds the terminal settings, the agent settings, the serial log folder, and the shortcuts. It holds no secrets and nothing from the vault: no hosts, keys, passwords, serial profiles, or known hosts. It also omits the sync account, the license, security settings, hidden keys, key names, the remembered sidebar section, and a skipped update. Export works while the vault is locked.
Import Settings… shows what will change and asks first. The vault must be unlocked, because the agent settings change with it. A setting missing from the file keeps this computer’s value. A section, key, or shortcut this version does not know is skipped and listed. One invalid value rejects the whole file and changes nothing. A shortcut on this computer that the file gives to another command is removed, and the confirmation says so.
